    Friday the 13th.

Well, not really. It's 2:00am so it's already Saturday the 14th.

Anyway, my Friday the 13th was unlucky, but quite funny actually. My favorite teacher who taught Social Studies just quit school officially starting today. How sad! He was everyone's favorite; we considered him as family. I can't believe he's gone! Our new Social Studies teacher really sucks; boring and loserful. [Sorry for the lack of vocabulary at the moment- I'm just pissed.]

I got his cellphone number though and we text messaged each other a few times a while ago. He's only 22 years old. Young, no? Anyway, he quit because he got a full scholarship at a school for math, I think? He was supposed to be really good. Anyway, if you're reading this... I'M GOING TO MISS YOU, SIR ALLAN!

    Don't forget me! :D

So I went to the mall today.

It was time to buy new clothes and shoes. I bought these super adorable new Chucks and a blue shirt. I bought a new jacket, too. I'm happy with what I bought, especially the Chucks. I bought new cds, too. <3

    The Open Door - Evanescence
Stadium Arcadium - The Red Hot Chili Peppers
How to Save a Life - The Fray

I wore eyeliner in public, today. Seriously, those things are dangerous. I poked my eyes so many times to get it perfect. Hardy har har. So, what did you all do today?

    Sincerely,
    Mariel.

So, I got an ego-boost today.

You know what I'm talking about. I was chatting with a friend online and I posted my picture. He said, "You're pretty." Well. Yeah. That's my ego-boost. That's a lot for me. No one ever tells me that. I drew a mustache on myself today... With my mom's purple eyeliner.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny so I posted it. I like taking crazy pictures of myself ever since I got a digicam. <3 I think daily/weekly ego-boosts are good because you get to feel good about yourself, even for a while if so. Even if it isn't true. ^^

I thought about writing a story today. I'll post parts of it if I get started. Keep checking!

I also noticed how no one even knows this blog exists. -_-

    Sincerely,
    Mariel. <3

    We are blind.

So, I was listening to this song "Paper Bag" by Fiona Apple just a few minutes ago. The song was about how ironic life is and how you can't let that stop you. There are good times and bad in your life and it's okay if they happen. It's about how you're mind tells you what you want to see, but that's not what's there at all. Does that make sense?

Let me explain further. I think it was saying how our mind controls us and it knows what it wants. Like, for a man. You want to see him as a man; That's what the mind did. It made him a man. When you're just somehow hallucinating and he's really just a boy. A perfect example is parents. They think their kids are perfect when they're not. They want to think they're good kids, when, once again, they're not. It's just the tricks of the mind.

There's also this song by the Gorillaz talking about how this perfect society of monkeys called Happy Folk live happily when one day, 'evil' monkeys called the Strange Folk invaded, but the Happy Folk didn't notice them. They only saw the Strange Folk's shadows. Then the song had this really nice like saying, "Without the truth of the eyes, the Happy Folk were blind." I think that explains my point perfectly.

Singing in the rain. Erm. I mean shower. <3

    To all shower singers,

Is it only me or does singing sound so much better in the shower? I think it's because you're in an enclosed place. I sing my heart out in the shower even with the feel of cold water on my skin. I love to sing songs by Sheryl Crow. I absolutely love her voice. I have terrible stage fright. I also like to sing to Cat Powers' "I Found A Reason" and Fiona Apple's "Paper Bag". I know I'm not the only one who sings in the shower but I've never met anyone who does.

    Sincerely,
    Mariel.
